Malta International Airport welcomes the First Flight from Nis
On Friday, Malta International Airport welcomed the first flight and passengers from Niš, marking the inauguration of the second direct connection between Malta and Serbia.
Flights to Serbia’s third-largest city will be operated by Ryanair every Monday and Friday throughout the winter season; a schedule that makes the destination ideal for prospective travellers eyeing a quick city break.
Being one of the oldest cities in Europe, Niš has a lot to offer to history and archaeology buffs. From the remains of Constantine the Great’s Roman palace to buildings going back to a time when the Ottomans occupied the city, Niš is wrapped in layers of history that can be peeled back to uncover a turbulent past.
Niš is also renowned for its healing thermal baths, which are found at the foot of the impressive Suva Planina mountain range. Being one of Serbia’s top paragliding spots and popular with skiers in the winter months, the Suva Planina provides plenty of opportunity for adventurous travellers looking for an adrenaline fix.
