Valletta Film Festival
The Malta Airport Foundation is proud to be supporting the fifth edition of the Valletta Film Festival, which will once again treat all cinema lovers and aspiring producers and directors to a bonanza of feature films, short films, master classes and workshops between the 14 and the 23 of June.
“We are delighted to be lending our support to make this unique festival, backdropped by some of the most beautiful spots around our capital, an even more successful event, which can serve to further enhance our visibility as a film destination on the international stage. Beyond providing an excellent platform for filmmakers, the VFF provides training and networking opportunities for aspiring writers, directors and producers. Thus, we believe that our support of the festival is by extension an investment in future film and documentary makers,” said Malta Airport Foundation Chairman Fredrick Mifsud Bonnici.
Five different locations in Valletta will be hosting screenings, with our capital’s most prominent square – Pjazza San Ġorġ – offering an al fresco cinema experience, which will allow spectators to enjoy top productions, while also relishing Malta’s balmy summer nights. A number of curated films will be screened here during the week, with two underwater documentaries funded by The Malta Airport Foundation being shown daily prior to the start of the main film. You can catch these documentaries every night at 20:45, but if you can’t make it to the VFF (which would be a pity), you can watch always watch Comino: A Secret Paradise and Filfla: An Incredible Diving Experience right here.
